GSE Technician

Purpose

The GSE Technician will be performing routine services / maintenance of Ground Service Equipment allotted. In this role, they will ensure compliance of maintenance services with the Company regulations and the manufacturer’s recommendations along with feedback to the Workshop Officer to maintain Ground Service Equipment maintenance history.  

Accountabilities

• Perform mechanical repair and maintenance of buses, trucks, GSE, and diesel/electric/gas-powered vehicles ensuring safe operational standards.
• Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults.
• Carry out complete overhauls of engines, transmissions, differentials, clutch systems, and braking systems.
• Repair and maintain electrical components including starters, alternators, wiring, lighting, and control systems.
• Conduct repairs and replacements on key systems such as steering, cooling, fuel, and hydraulic systems.
• Operate diagnostic tools, welding equipment, and machine tools (lathe/mill) for repair and fabrication work.
• Perform maintenance and repair of specialised GSE (e.g., GPU, ASU, ACU, hi-loaders, electric tractors, forklifts).
• Maintain and service auxiliary systems including air-conditioning and battery systems.
• Install and maintain control and monitoring systems including PLCs, drives, and instrumentation.
• Ensure accurate documentation of repairs, parts usage, and work orders in line with operational and safety requirements.

Education and Experience   

• Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to two years’ full-time employment in the service and repair of heavy equipment. 
• Airport GSE experience will be an added advantage.  
• UAE Light or Heavy Driving License holder preferred. ‎ 
• Principles of gasoline and diesel-powered internal combustion engines.  
• Communication skills in English, Arabic and Urdu preferred.
