GSE Engineer

 

Purpose

To manage and optimize the maintenance, reliability, and performance of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) used in airport operations. The role is responsible for planning maintenance activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving equipment reliability to support safe, efficient, and uninterrupted aircraft ground handling operations

 

Accountabilities 

  • Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for all GSE including tugs, GPUs, ACUs, and belt loaders
  • Monitor and track maintenance activities to ensure timely completion and minimize equipment downtime
  • Prepare and manage work orders, job cards, and maintenance documentation in line with OEM guidelines and internal procedures
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams, operations, and procurement to ensure availability of spare parts and resources
  • Analyze equipment performance and reliability data to identify trends, reduce breakdowns, and improve operational efficiency
  • Maintain accurate asset records, maintenance logs, and service histories for all GSE
  • Ensure compliance with aviation regulatory standards (e.g., FAA, EASA) and internal health, safety, and environmental requirements
  • Support maintenance budgeting, cost control, and planning for parts and lifecycle management
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and incident investigations to ensure operational compliance and continuous improvement
  • Provide recommendations on equipment upgrades, replacement strategies, and lifecycle optimization based on performance analysis

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline
    Minimum 5 years of experience in GSE, fleet maintenance, or heavy equipment maintenance planning
  • Experience working in aviation or airport operations is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of maintenance systems such as SAP, Maximo, or similar is an advantage
  • Strong understanding of OEM manuals, maintenance planning processes, and regulatory standards
