Flight Editing Supervisor

 

Purpose

The Flight Editing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the accuracy, timeliness and integrity of all flight data maintained within airport operational systems. The role provides leadership to the Flight Editing Controllers ensuring real‑time flight information is correctly updated and communicated across airport stakeholders to support safe, efficient and compliant airport operations.

 

Accountabilities

  • Ensure all flights are edited with the correct details (aircraft type, configuration, registration etc.) and opened for check-in (web check-in, through and local check in) as per the specific requirements for each station
  • Plan, allocate and assign flights for editing and close-out per shift. Deploy additional manpower as and when required to cover peak periods, disruption, etc.
  • Coordinate with the Operations team and customer airlines during the event of a system outage and ensure effective implementation of the fallback procedure to ensure business continuity
  • Record and report any system related discrepancies to the relevant airline contact for resolution. The problem must be graded according to the severity of the issues. Identify work around interim solution until the problem is resolved
  • Coordinate with Operations team and customer airlines during disruption for creating adhoc flights, offloading inbound late misconnections, transferring guests to alternative flight
  • Review airline rotation allocation messages and perform equipment and configuration changes, advise the Operations team
  • Identify areas of short falls for process improvements within editing and closeout and provide recommendation to the Management Team
  • Ensure all emails are actioned on time and delegate tasks accordingly to each team member within the shift   

 

Education & Experience  

  • Educated to a minimum of high school certification, ideally degree qualified
  • Must be qualified in Departure Control Systems (DCS) and all aircraft configuration preparation
  • Minimum of 5 years’ operations experience with 3 years spent within an operations or hub environment
  • Experience of various airlines
