Commercial Officer

About the Role

The Commercial Officer supports Velora’s business development and commercial growth agenda by executing market research, pipeline management, bid preparation, and partnership support activities across aviation, logistics, ground handling, and related business units. The role ensures commercial opportunities are efficiently assessed, documented, and progressed, contributing to revenue growth, client acquisition, and diversification efforts under the direction of the Head of Business Development.

Job Accountabilities

• Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and identify business opportunities
• Maintain and track the commercial pipeline, including status and risk updates
• Prepare pipeline dashboards and reports for leadership review
• Support client engagement through meeting briefs, presentations, and follow-ups
• Assist in managing key account activities and closing action items.
• Support preparation of RFPs, tenders, and commercial proposals.
• Coordinate cross-functional inputs (Operations, Finance, Legal) for submissions.
• Conduct partner research, due diligence, and support alliance evaluations
• Assist in new business initiatives, feasibility studies, and financial analysis.
• Ensure compliance, reporting, and documentation aligned with governance standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Strong analytical and market research skills.
• Knowledge of aviation, cargo, or logistics commercial environments.
• Basic financial modelling and data analysis capability.
• Strong proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and CRM systems.
• Understanding of proposal/tender processes and documentation.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Proactive, resourceful, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
• High integrity, professionalism, and commercial awareness.
• Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.
